Book Review: My Heart For Yours by Jolene Perry & Steph Campbell

Publication Date: April 30, 2012

Book Description from Amazon:

For Tobin and Delia, everything was always equal.

A bargain, a trade, a deal to be struck.

A kiss for a kiss.
Your shirt for mine.
Break my heart, I’ll break yours.

Their disastrous split was no different. Tobin’s spent the last year pretending Delia never existed, and Delia’s been in D.C., pretending to be anything but the country girl that she is.

When tragedy brings her back to town, Tobin and Delia realize that time apart hasn't healed either one of them. But staying away from each other is harder than they imagined, especially in small town Louisiana, and old feelings are quickly brought back to the surface.

In the mess they’ve created, is there anything to be salvaged of a love that they both thought would be forever?

WARNING MY REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS SO DON'T READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK YET!

My Review:

As much as I liked this book there were some things I didn't like. First off being that I don't think Tobin really grieved for his brother that much. I mean the day that they buried Eamon, Tobin and Delia went to a party and they argued over their past relationship. I get that the party was to honor Eamon but it just didn't feel right to me that they brought up their past relationship so fast. I think they could have at least waited a month or more. I also didn't like how Delia acted like she needed Tobin to help her stay strong and stand up to her dad. She just sounded weak to me. I liked the ending though when she finally figured out that she didn't need Tobin to stand up to her dad. I'm also still wondering why Eamon stayed on the railroad tracks and got hit by the train if he knew it was just right behind him and he didn't move. If he loved his family as much as Tobin said and he wouldn't want to hurt them why wouldn't he move? I get that he's a daredevil and everything but why wouldn't he move that just confuses me. I also didn't like all the flashbacks that there were.

There are some things I like about this book starting with how Tobin always wanted to trade things like a kiss for a kiss and stuff. I just thought that was so cute and romantic! When Delia finally stood up to her dad he needs his butt kicked I totally don't like him. I loved Delia's friends they seem really nice and caring. Well  I loved them what little bit they were in the book. I wish they had been in the book a little more. I liked how funny Eamon was in the flashbacks. I didn't like the flashbacks but Eamon was hilarious.

Don't get me wrong I loved the book. It's just some of these things I didn't like or understand. Other than those things though I loved the book so I'm going to give it three stars.
